The Men’s Carbor EPX is tried and true workboot that is a fantastic choice for electricians. While they have a composite toe rather than a true steel toe, I believe they still offer optimal comfort and protection.

These boots meet ASTM F2413-11 electrical hazard standards, which is the current industry safety standard for protective boots. Additionally, the moisture-wicking lining keeps your feet dry throughout the day, even during long hours of wear.

The upper material is made of genuine leather which is always critical. You never want to wear pleather or fake leather for work boots. The nylon shank adds some structural integrity although the main benefit is that the boots are more flexible. When you’re crouching to work on an outlet or get to a hard to reach area these boots will flex with your feet.

The lacing hardware is fully riveted metal which is awesome. I always prefer metal hardware as it won’t break unlike plastic.

I recommend replacing the thin stock insole that comes with the boot as you’ll probably wear it out pretty quickly. I always recommend the Timberland Anti Fatigue insole as it is just the all around best insole on the market in my opinion.

The “EPX” sole is made of durable poly/rubber and provides excellent grip on ladders, stairs, wet concrete etc. The sole pattern is dense and the tread depth is great for daily work use. The sole is made from very good rubber and many people have worn these boots for years, so you’re really getting a good bang for your buck.

Overall, while the Wolverine Cabor boots have a composite toe rather than a steel toe, they still meet ASTM F2413 safety standards and provide optimal comfort for electricians. These boots are a great option for those looking for durable and reliable work boot.

Waterproof These boots are waterproof out of the box. I would suggest using a waterproofing product on the leather to ensure they stay waterproof and to overall make the boots last longer.

Insole – Decent insole, although thin. I’d suggest switching the insole out when purchasing as the insoles are the easiest way to increase comfort.

Electrical Hazard – These boots are ASTM electrical hazard rated

Composite Toe – The Wolverine Men’s Cabor is ASTM rated with a composite toe.

What people are saying:

Great boot well made, my size 13 fits perfect . Super comfortable , but will take a few days to break in . Only knocks I would give it are small, shoe laces are garbage , I had to pick up some Kevlar laces for them. No pull loop on back . Other than that very happy. Prior to this shoe I ordered 2 other pairs by other makers and had to send them both back for differnt reasons . Have been a Keen guy for last 10 years was looking for something more durable but just as comfortable. Think these are the ones.

Wolverine Hiking Steel Toe Boots

Price At The Time Of Writing This Article: $59.99

As someone who works in the boot industry, I can confidently say that the Wolverine Men’s Hudson Work Boot is one of my favorite work boots available on the market today.

One of the most amazing things about these boots is how super lightweight they are. When I wear them, it barely even feels like I’m wearing safety toe work boots. The boots feel more like hiking shoes or tennis shoes, making them the perfect choice for electricians who are constantly on the move. As someone who has tried many work boots over the years, I can say that the Hudson definitely stands out in terms of comfort.

Another feature that I appreciate about the Hudson is the protective toe cap. Although it’s not the best toe cap out there, it does enough to protect your boots and prevent the leather on the toe area from wearing away. This means that the boots will last longer, saving you money in the long run.

The Hudson work boots are made of 100% leather and fabric and feature a removable cushion footbed, rubber sole, and nylon shank. The removable full cushion insole and moisture-managing mesh linings ensure my feet stay dry and comfortable throughout the day.

These boots are built to last, with Wolverine cemented sole construction that ensures durability and longevity. Whether you work in construction or an industrial setting, these boots offer the comfort and safety you need to get the job done.

In conclusion, as someone who is passionate about work boots and has tried many different pairs over the years, I highly recommend the Wolverine Men’s Hudson Work Boot. With their superlightweight design, protective toe cap, and durable construction, these boots offer everything you need to stay comfortable and safe on the job.

Features

  • Nubuck sueded leather and
  • Mesh lining  in the interior for comfort
  • Removable insole
  • Lightweight nylon shank reduces overall boot weight to help fight fatigue
  • Non-conductive materials
  • ASTM F2413-18 M I/75 C/75 EH rated steel toe
  • Lightweight cemented construction

Waterproof – These boots are not waterproof and can’t reliably be made waterproof through use of an aftermarket product. The suede does not waterproof well and sno-seal or mink oil will do little other than ruin the material. Also the fabric on the boots will absorb water over time.

Insole – Decent insole, these are hiking style boots which were made for extensive walking. I’d try them out for a while before investing in another insole.

Height – The boots stand 6 inches tall

Electrical Hazard – These boots are ASTM electrical hazard rated

Steel Toe – The Wolverine Hudson is made ASTM and OSHA compliant with a steel toe cap

Outsole – Decent outsole, they are more of a hiking style boot and the sole reflects that. This boots are made for walking but they are slip and oil resistant also.

Warranty – Wolverine has no official warranty program although you can return defective boots if they meet certain criteria.

Price – The Wolverine Hudson is costs $59.99 at the time of writing this article

What people are saying:

This is the second pair of these boots I have bought. The are light, comfortable, and most importantly they cost the same amount as my work allowance for steel toe boots. Even after wearing these in the factory for a year they are still in great condition. I have gotten other boots before that weren’t nearly as comfortable and didn’t hold up well. I’ve gotten 3 pairs of wolverine boots now that have been perfect.

If you’re looking for a reliable work boot for electricians, the Raider Pull-On Work Boot is a great option. This boot has been tried and tested for many years and is loved by those who work with their hands.

The insole is pretty good and many people find it comfortable right out of the box. You won’t need to replace the insole until you need to. The boot is not waterproof inherently, but it’s made entirely of genuine leather which can be made waterproof with products like Sno-Seal. Using Sno-Seal not only waterproofs the leather but also conditions it, making it last longer.

The outsole is very good, featuring the DuraShocks Flex rubber lug outsole that’s perfect for extended walking, crouching, ladders, stairs, and more. The sole is welted along with cemented to the midsole, meaning your boots won’t talk after a few months.

The boot also features a composite toe that’s rated ASTM F2413-11 M I/75 C/75 EH, ensuring that you stay protected on the job. The boot is slip-resistant, keeping you steady on wet or slippery surfaces.

In conclusion, the Raider Pull-On Work Boot is a great option for electricians who want a comfortable, durable, and protective work boot. The boot features a high abrasion TPU SR lug outsole and a breathable waterproof membrane with moisture-wicking mesh. So, if you’re looking for a reliable work boot that will keep your feet protected and comfortable, the Raider Pull-On Work Boot is definitely worth considering.

Lace up work boots by wolverine

Price At The Time Of Writing This Article: $129.95

Let me tell you, the Wolverine Harrison Steel Toe Boot is the real deal when it comes to finding a reliable and protective work boot.

Made with genuine leather and a tough outer-sole, these boots can handle the wear and tear that comes with electrical work. The heavy-duty, high-grip rubber sole provides maximum traction and durability, which is a huge plus for electricians who need to keep their footing on various surfaces.

Comfort is key, and the Wolverine Harrison Steel Toe Boot definitely delivers on that front. With superior support and cushioning, these boots provide all-day comfort for electricians who are constantly on the go. This allows them to focus on their work and not on their tired, achy feet.

As far as protection goes, these boots have you covered with their steel toe cap that meets ASTM safety standards. No need to worry about your toes when working with heavy machinery or equipment, as these boots have ample protection.

One minor downside is that the laces can wear out quickly, but this can easily be fixed by swapping them out for leather laces.

Overall, the Wolverine Harrison Steel Toe Boot is a top choice for electricians who need a dependable, comfortable, and protective work boot. These boots are built to last and perform exceptionally well in even the toughest conditions.

Features

• Premium look thanks to the full grain leather

• Removable cushion insole

• Midsole made from Single density polyurethane

• Cement construction

• The nylon shank is lighter than steel, which helps fight fatigue

• ASTM F2413-18 M I/75 C/75 EH rated steel toe

Waterproof – These full grain leather Wolverine boots are not waterproof after initially purchasing. Because they are made from genuine leather you can easily make them waterproof using Sno-Seal or mink oil.

Insole – Comes with an okay insole. Some people love it some people replace it immediately. I would replace it upon purchase because the insole is going to be the easiest way to make a boot more comfortable. I always suggest the Timberland Anti Fatigue insole as it is best in class.

Height – These boots are 6 inches tall, so you’ll want to wear a decent sized sock to prevent friction between your leg and the boot. The boot does come with fabric on the inside but ankle socks are still a no go.

Electrical Hazard – These boots are “electrical hazard” rated, meaning they meet the requirements of being electrocution resistant.

Steel Toe – The Wolverine Harrison work boots are made with a steel toe meeting all safety requirements that you’ll need to meet as an electrician.

Warranty –  Wolverine has no official warranty program although you can return defective boots if they meet certain criteria.

Price –  $106.85 at the time of writing this article

When it comes to work boots, electricians need a reliable pair that offers both comfort and safety. The Wolverine Hellcat Spring boots are expertly designed to meet these requirements, equipped with a waterproof membrane that shields your feet from water, although the leather isn’t entirely waterproof. Using a waterproofing product can enhance the waterproofing ability and ensure durability.

These boots have a solid rubber outsole that’s made of high-quality material, providing a reliable option for electricians. The Goodyear welt construction attaches the outsole to the midsole, ensuring longevity and eliminating the risk of the outersole splitting from the midsole. These boots are built to last and withstand the harsh conditions that electricians face on a daily basis.

The metal eyelets of these boots are also a great feature, ensuring that they won’t break off when tightening your laces. You can wear these boots with confidence, knowing that they will hold up over time.

At a cost of $125.95, these boots offer excellent value for money, making them an affordable option for electricians who want a reliable pair of work boots.

The premium waterproof full-grain leather upper, combined with the breathable waterproof membrane with moisture-wicking mesh lining, ensures your feet stay dry and comfortable throughout the day. The removable Ortholite UltraLite full-cushioned footbed is lightweight, providing comfort without compromising support. The Revolutionary UltraSpring high rebound ETPU midsole provides an energized ride, making these boots comfortable to wear for extended periods.

In conclusion, the Wolverine Hellcat Spring work boots are an exceptional option for electricians seeking a dependable, cost-effective pair of work boots that offer safety, durability, and waterproof protection. The solid rubber outsole, metal eyelets, and waterproof membrane make these boots a reliable choice for electricians. The combination of comfort and durability makes them a great investment for any electrician.

Features

  • Made in USA or Imported
  • Rubber sole
  • Shaft measures approximately Ankle from arch
  • Boot opening measures approximately 14 around
  • Premium waterproof full-grain leather upper. Breathable waterproof membrane with moisture wicking mesh lining
  • Removable Ortholite UltraLite full-cushioned footbed is light without sacrificing comfort
  • Revolutionary UltraSpring high rebound ETPU midsole provides energized ride
  • Rubber lug outsole grips the ground. Time-tested Goodyear Welt construction
  • Nylon shank adds extra strength

Waterproof – Although these boots are waterproof straight out of the box, it’s still advisable to waterproof the leather for added protection. The waterproof ability of most work boots, including these, comes from a waterproof liner on the inside of the boot. However, this liner tends to rip over time, causing the boot to lose its waterproof ability. This is a common issue that I have come across numerous times. Once the liner is torn, you may need to cut it out just to take your foot out of the boot.

Insole Good, many people have said the insoles and overall comfort of these boots are good. You may want to switch out the insoles but you can probably get away with keeping those from Wolverine.

Electrical Hazard – These Wolverine boots are electrical hazard rated

Composite Toe – ASTM rated with a composite toe

Outsole good, the soles should be good for electricians although they may be stiff which could be bothersome until they’re broken in.

Warranty – Wolverine has no official warranty program although you can return defective boots if they meet certain criteria.

Price – The Wolverine Men’s Cabor costs $125.95 at the time of writing this article

What people are saying:

I’ve worn cowboy boots most of my life and largely viewed lace-ups with disdain as being too heavy, too stiff, and too cumbersome to put on every morning. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve developed arthritis in my right foot from multiple metatarsal breaks from my younger, dumber days. I also have Plantar fasciitis in both feet. I’ve tried ropers, hiking boots, and a plethora of inserts in my boots to help, but ultimately, most only lessen the pain, but don’t prevent it. These boots allow me to walk, stand and work pain-free! An added bonus is the ability to purchase Wolverine inserts for them when the ones they came with wear out.

I’m so impressed I ordered another pair from Wolverine in a different color.

WOLVERINE Men's I-90 Waterproof Composite-Toe Romeo Slip-on

Price At The Time Of Writing This Article: $107.95

Looking for a comfortable and durable work boot that’s easy to slip on and off? The Romeo style of these boots is perfect for electricians who need to move quickly between job sites. The waterproof full-grain leather upper is a premium feature that gives the boots a polished look while providing protection from water damage.

However, it should be noted that while the leather is waterproof, the fabric on the upper is not. Electricians who work around fire, sparks, or welders should be cautious as the fabric can burn easily.

The TPU SR lug sole is perfect for various work scenarios like crouching, climbing ladders and stairs, but it may melt when exposed to hot surfaces or metal shavings. This could be a concern for electricians working in particular industries.

These boots also feature a direct-attached construction, which has its pros and cons. While it makes the boots more affordable than goodyear welted boots, it can be more prone to sole detachment. This can result in your boots “talking” as you walk, which can be annoying.

Overall, the boots provide excellent comfort with a removable dual-density PU EPX anti-fatigue footbed, advanced comfort PU midsole, and nylon shank that provides extra strength. The ASTM F2413-18 M/I/C EH rated composite toe offers excellent safety protection for electricians, and the boots are direct attach constructed for durability. If you’re looking for a waterproof work boot with a premium look and feel that offers optimal comfort and safety, these boots are a good choice.

Features

  • 100% Leather
  • Shaft measures approximately 5.5″ from arch
  • Boot opening measures approximately 11″ around
  • Comfortable – by bringing comfort closer to the foot, new EPX technology conserves and returns energy to better fight fatigue
  • Durable – high abrasion TPU SR lug outsole
  • Waterproof – breathable waterproof membrane with moisture wicking mesh
  • Stay protected – Composite toe ASTM F2413-11 M I/75 C/75 EH
  • Slip Resistant – keep your footing on wet or slippery surfaces

Waterproof – These boots are considered waterproof thanks to the lining on the interior. I still recommend using mink oil, sno-seal, or comparable product to make the leather itself waterproof.

Insole Okay, there have been mixed reactions to the insole, some saying the boots are extremely comfortable and others saying the boots need a bit of time to break in. I recommend chaning the insole out to a better one either way.

Height – The boots stand 5.5 inches tall depending on the size

Electrical Hazard – These Wolverine boots are electrical hazard rated

Composite Toe – ASTM rated with a composite toe

Outsole Okay, not the best and not the worst outer sole. Will work fine for electricians.

Warranty – Wolverine has no official warranty program although you can return defective boots if they meet certain criteria.

Price – The Wolverine Men’s Cabor costs $107.95 at the time of writing this article

Looking for a work boot that can keep up with the demands of being an electrician? Look no further than the Wolverine Men’s Legend 6” DuraShocks Waterproof Composite Toe Work Boots. With features like DuraShocks technology and a fully integrated energy return system, these boots are built for optimal comfort during even the longest workdays.

But it’s not just about comfort – safety is a top priority too. The CarbonMAX nanotechnology safety toe offers lighter-weight protection that meets ASTM safety standards for toe protection. Plus, the waterproof full-grain leather upper and waterproof membrane with moisture-wicking mesh keep feet dry and comfortable.

While the insole may be thin, it’s easily removable and replaceable, so you can ensure optimal comfort for your feet. And with a lightweight design and flexible direct-attach construction, these boots won’t weigh you down or restrict your movement.

But perhaps one of the most important features for electricians is the slip-resistant rubber-lug outsole, which delivers superior grip in varied conditions. So whether you’re on a wet worksite or navigating uneven terrain, these boots have got you covered.

Overall, the Wolverine Men’s Legend 6” DuraShocks Waterproof Composite Toe Work Boots are a top-performing option for electricians who need a comfortable, flexible, and protective work boot that meets safety standards. So why not upgrade your work boots today and feel the difference for yourself?

Features

  • 100% Leather
  • Rubber sole
  • Shaft measures approximately 6″ from arch
  • The new Wolverine Dura shocks add comfort into every step so you can power through any job
  • A unique cushioning design optimizes comfort with cushioning in the heel and flexibility through the step
  • Wolverine h-plate suspension system stabilizes your foot while creating four independently responsive quadrants to harness the energy of your step and propel you forward

Waterproof – These boots are waterproof out of the box. I would suggest using a waterproofing product on the leather to ensure they stay waterproof and to overall make the boots last longer.

Insole – Okay insole, although thin. I’d suggest switching the insole out when purchasing as the insoles are the easiest way to increase comfort.

Height – The boots stand 5.5 inches tall depending on the size

Electrical Hazard – These boots are ASTM electrical hazard rated

Composite Toe – The Wolverine Men’s Cabor is ASTM rated with a composite toe.

Wolverine Ram's Collection Comp Toe Work Boots

Price At The Time Of Writing This Article: $155.00

Looking for an affordable work boot that combines toughness, flexibility, and style? The Wolverine x Ram Tradesman offers a unique style and features that may be attractive for electricians who aren’t looking to break the bank.

While the Tradesman boasts DuraShocks® technology and a full-grain leather upper, many wearers have found the insole to be too tough and uncomfortable for long days on the job. I recommend changing this insole out when you purchase because the boots are already budget-friendly, which should leave room for a nicer and more comfortable insole

However, the Tradesman does meet ASTM F2413-18 M/I/C EH safety standards, including a composite toe that offers protection against electrical hazards. The direct-attach construction ensures durability and flexibility, and the lightweight and durable TPU outsole provides good traction and grip.

The boots being direct attached means the outer soles are cemented to the leather and midsole. While convenient I do prefer Goodyear welted boots over direct-attached because the soles are less likely to detach (your boots start talking) than those that are only direct attached.

While the Tradesman may not be the most flexible or comfortable work boot, it does offer a unique style with an iconic Ram logo molded on the tongue and a backstay embossed with the powerful Ram wordmark.

Overall, the Tradesman may not be the optimal choice for electricians looking for a work boot with superior comfort, flexibility, and support, but its style, price, and safety features make it a decent option for electricians looking for a stylish and durable comp toe boot.

Features

  • Rubber sole
  • Boot opening measures approximately 13″ around
  • Built in the USA
  • Removable dual-density footbed
  • Lightweight and durable TPU outsole
  • Direct-attach construction for durability and flexibility
  • ATSM F2413-11 M I/75 C/75 EH rated composite toe
  • Nylon shank adds extra strength

Waterproof – These boots do not come waterproof but they can be made waterproof with sno-seal, mink oil, or another waterproofing agent. Remember that these boots have a direct attached sole, so once that cement starts separating from the midsole water will seep in through the bottom of the boot.

Insole Bad, I recommend switching this out for a better insole when you purchase the boots. Many people have described the insole as rough.

Height – The boots stand 5.5 inches tall depending on the size

Electrical Hazard – These Wolverine boots are electrical hazard rated

Composite Toe – The Wolverine WOLVERINE Men’s X Ram Trucks – Tradesman Safety-Toe Boot is ASTM rated with a composite toe

Outsole Okay, not the best and not the worst outer sole. Will work fine for electricians.

Warranty – Wolverine has no official warranty program although you can return defective boots if they meet certain criteria.

Price – The Wolverine Men’s Cabor costs $151.00 at the time of writing this article

What people are saying:

A little bit of break in time. Well built shoe with great grip.

WOLVERINE Men's Floorhand 10 Waterproof Steel-Toe Wellington Boot

Price At The Time Of Writing This Article: $99.95

Electricians need reliable work boots that provide comfort, safety, and durability, and the Wolverine Floorhand boots are designed to meet those needs.

The Floorhand boots are made of full-grain leather that is waterproof, although some customers have reported that the waterproofing doesn’t last very long. To ensure maximum protection from wet conditions, we recommend using a waterproofing product like sno-seal on the leather itself rather than relying on the waterproof liner.

Although these boots are cost-efficient, the insole is thin and wears out quickly. We recommend replacing it with a better quality insole, like the Timberland Anti-Fatigue insole, for improved comfort and support. The outsole of these boots is okay, but not as good as other boots mentioned on this list. Keep in mind that the outersole might not provide the same level of durability as other boots.

Durability has been an issue for some customers who have experienced detachment of the outsoles and stitching breaking. However, other customers have worn these boots for years without any problems. This mixed feedback suggests that the durability of these boots may depend on individual usage.

The cost of these boots is significantly less than other pull-on Wolverine boots mentioned on this list, currently priced at $99. This makes them a great option for electricians who want a reliable pair of work boots without breaking the bank.

The Floorhand boots are designed with safety in mind, featuring a strong steel toe that meets the ASTM standard F2413-11 M I/75 C75 EH. The slip-resistant rubber lug outsole provides good traction to keep your footing in slippery conditions.

While some customers have reported issues with the fit of the Floorhand boots, other customers have had great experiences with these boots. It’s important to ensure a proper fit to avoid blisters and discomfort.

In summary, the Wolverine Floorhand work boots are a good option for electricians who are looking for a cost-effective pair of work boots that provide safety, durability, and waterproof protection. We recommend replacing the insole for improved comfort and using a waterproofing product like sno-seal for added protection.

Features

  • 100% Leather
  • Rubber sole
  • Shaft measures approximately 10.75″ from arch
  • Heel measures approximately 1.75″
  • Platform measures approximately 1.25 inches
  • Boot opening measures approximately 15″ around
  • Waterproof full-grain leather upper to keep your feet dry in wet conditions
  • A strong steel toe that meets astm standard f2413-11 m I/75 c75 eh
Slip resistant rubber lug outsole to safely keep your footing in slippery conditions

Waterproof – These boots are waterproof out of the box but I recommend waterproofing the leather anyway. What makes these boots waterproof (and most work boots) is a waterproof liner on the inside of the boot. This tends to rip, I’ve seen it hundreds of times, where the boot then is no longer waterproof and you have to cut the liner out to be able to get your foot out of the boot.

Insole Poor, these boots are great because of their price but don’t expect much for an insole.

Electrical Hazard – These Wolverine boots are electrical hazard rated

Steel Toe – ASTM rated with a steel toe

Outsole Okay, the soles should be okay for electricians although they are priced great for a reason.

Warranty – Wolverine has no official warranty program although you can return defective boots if they meet certain criteria.

Price – The Wolverine Men’s Cabor costs $99.95 at the time of writing this article

What people are saying:

Good pair for the money. Didn’t even last 2years till the bottom wore out. I don’t ware them everyday only in rain or winter. I’m in construction so I knew it was only a matter of time. Still recommend!
